Hush all the Hurry for Christmas Today

Advent invites us to pause— to step off the rushing treadmill of life and breathe deeply. It’s the warm cup of tea in the stillness of the early morning, the quiet decision to let the to-do list go, the resolution for more intimate connection, and the freedom to release the weight of our "shoulds" and "oughts."

In this slowing, Advent softens the edges of our harsh days and whispers close to us: we can become a sanctuary — a place to know and be known by God.

Drop Thy still dews of quietness,
Till all our strivings cease;
Take from our souls the strain and stress,
And let our ordered lives confess
The beauty of Thy peace

A Christmas Reading Plan For You

Today, I’d love to share our family’s Advent Reading Plan with you— a guide to rewriting your life story within the context of God’s love story, through the wonder of the greatest story ever told.

This is an invitation to a Christmas that lingers long after the decorations are packed away, a way to celebrate Christ and allow His story to transform your story.

Stories shape us. The ones we tell ourselves determine how we see ourselves and make sense of what we’ve lived through. Our narratives hold meaning, weaving the script that defines who we are and what we believe about life.

But there’s one Story so powerful it has changed millions of lives—the story of Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection. It’s a story told countless times, yet it never ceases to bring healing to broken hearts, hope to bruised spirits, and comfort to aching wounds.

In the Christmas story, we see the essence of the gospel: God stepping into the lowest places of humanity as a fragile baby, offering redemption to all. The real miracle, though, is that this God invites our stories to become part of His redemptive Story, and our lives to make meaning through it all.

On days when your past feels too heavy, your history too painful, or your hopes too shattered, this Story carries you. In it, you’ll find grace for your flawed days, strength for your weakest moments, and love for every part of you—even the parts you’d rather hide.

This Advent, dare to believe in a story that says you are loved, forgiven, accepted, and redeemed. You have nothing to prove, nothing to lose, nothing to hide—because He is your hope, your rescuer, and He is enough for you.

Our Advent Reading Plan takes you through the big stories of the Bible in 24 days, from Creation to the Creche—the moment of Jesus’ birth. While it doesn’t cover everything, it’s a starting point to explore how God’s story connects with your own.

As you journey through God’s incredible narrative of redemption, my hope is that you’ll encounter the joy and hope found in the greatest miracle of all time.
